Course Description
Digital Photography I students will study the sensory, formal, expressive and aesthetic properties of photographic art and will closely examine the history and development of photography. Students will be able to link photography to other art forms and disciplines and will understand its applications to industry-related careers. Students will learn the terminologies and techniques of black and white and color photographic production with digital cameras, as well as the making of photographic prints and enlargements and the mounting and display of finished work. The course teaches students to work with more technically-advanced photographic equipment including specialized lighting, digital processes and professional software. Students will concentrate on the development of a distinctive personal style, will pursue individual interests, and learn to critically evaluate their work. Throughout the course, the students will study the history of photography and analyses of notable photographers. Students will be able to link photography to diverse disciplines and professions.
