Course Details

 This course prepares students for entry-level positions as dental assistants. This course will introduce students to all phases of dentistry to include Law and Ethics, Infection Control, and General dentistry. Students are introduced to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Standards for infection control and hazard communication.

 Instruction includes dental sciences and terminology, dental laboratory procedures, equipment care and preparation, patient education, general office procedures, emergency procedures, and dental specialties. Students will also learn Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for the Healthcare Provider and how to manage emergencies that may occur in the dental office.

Successful students will master the competencies necessary for entry-level employment in a dental office or clinic. This course provides 200 hours of classroom instruction and 120 hours of externship at a dental office.

Registration Fee: $300
